The Third Annual FloMo Food Truck Fest at Parker Square has become a can’t miss family friendly event in Flower Mound, Texas. It featured 25 food trucks, 50 vendors, a kids’ zone, a pet zone, a car raffle and live music entertainment! Food trucks offered eats ranging from BBQ to vegan – there was something for everyone.
Ascend’s own Gabrielle Giddan served as Co-Chair and Volunteer Coordinator of the team that made this event possible. She has been involved since FloMo’s first year and is an active volunteer in our community. Gabrielle also managed a Carter BloodCare drive that collected 18 pints of blood that day.
“My co-chairs and I have managed to grow The FloMo Food Truck Fest into a local Flower Mound town favorite. This year, we hosted over 6,000 people at Parker Square. It was a huge success. I recruited and coordinated 225 volunteers who worked tirelessly at each of the various stations. After working on this project for a full year, I felt tremendously proud and gratified by the outcome.”

Proceeds from The FloMo Food Truck Fest were donated to Congregation Kol Ami, Kyle’s Place and The Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation. Kyle’s Place, sponsored by Journey to Dream, provides emergency shelter and 24-hour care for teens aged 13 to 18 in Denton County. The Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation is dedicated to eradicating suicide through funding depression research, creating awareness, erasing the mental health stigma, and providing hope to those suffering in silence.
The FloMo Food Truck Fest will be back for its fourth year on October 7th, 2018.
