Dacia-Owens

Dacia Owens studied marketing at the University of Nebraska and went on to spent 10 years at Verizon. As a senior marketing manager, she spent her time leading nationwide campaigns that consisted of mass media in top national media markets, nationwide direct mail, and internal communications. She later joined the non-profit world with the Magnolia Education Foundation (MEF) in June 2017 as president. MEF at that time needed a reboot, and under her leadership it underwent a rebranding to draw more attention to its purpose, creating a new executive board, a new logo, and lots of excitement! This made a huge difference in the amount of donations and success for the organization in a quickly growing community. Due to Dacia’s involvement and growing passion for her community and its schools, the Magnolia ISD board of trustees recently appointed Dacia to serve and continue a new chapter of giving back. She cherishes the opportunity to continue developing her servant’s heart for all the great educators, parents, and students in Magnolia, Texas.

Her family have been residents of Magnolia since 2014, where they relocated from Dallas. Dacia and her husband, Patrick Owens, have been married for 16 years and have two children. Ava (14) and Drake (12) are currently very active students in junior high who love art, cheer, band, baseball, and football, collectively. Dacia doesn’t meet a stranger and has a passion for building relationships and networking. People tell her that she has an effortless way of making connections and finding the win-win opportunities within any given situation. In her free time, Dacia is always looking forward to squeezing in time with her friends and family, listening to live music, traveling, dining, and shopping!
