Overview

The Digital Marketing Specialist role will research, strategize, implement, and collaborate on digital marketing technologies to support marketing stakeholders and clients. Other responsibilities include martech automation, CRM, web content management, and data analytics. Be ready to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, pay attention to detail, meet compliance standards, achieve marketing campaign goals, strive for excellence, and implement tactics to meet consumers where they are in the customer journey. 

You will work with some of the most talented and experienced marketing professionals supporting some of the largest and leading global marketing organizations. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide marketing automation and complex data strategy support to Marketing and Data/Insights teams
  • Utilize digital marketing tools to create and maintain audiences, data extensions and update subscriber lists and create segmentation groups
  • Develop relevant reports and dashboards
  • Support digital marketing platform reports and dashboards, customized objects, fields, record types, page layouts, workflows and validations
  • Monitor and analyze complex data sets for quality and integrity
  • Manage data migrations and data integrations
  • Optimize solutions for data utilization
  • Collaborate and train other team members

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, information technology, computer science or related field; 1-3 years of experience in marketing technology or digital marketing
  • Admin or expert level certifications plus 1-3 years of experience in marketing automation and/or CRM platform tools such as Marketo, Salesforce, HubSpot and Adobe
  • Experience in developing and optimizing Web Metrics with use of Web Analytics tools such as Google Analytics
  • Programming and coding languages such as HTML, CSS, SQL, Java, R and Python
  • Experience creating and maintaining web content across CMS platforms such as WordPress (FTP experience is a plus)
  • Experience with project and document management tools such as Google Drive and SharePoint
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to convey technical information clearly and concisely to variety of audiences
  • Ability to translate marketing strategies into technical build requirements to deliver automated tactics
  • Must have superior communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be highly organized and self-motivated with a sense of urgency
  • Strong independent project management skills
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks with competing priorities under minimal supervision
  • Able to think critically and exercise independent judgment and discretion

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide technical design/architecture and leadership across various internal technology initiatives and external client and business partner teams, leveraging, driving innovation, and pushing the boundaries of internal development, to bring the right technologies for the client to create customer solutions;
  • Interact internally with Ascend leadership, technology teams, account leaders, project leaders and externally with client contacts and business partners to assess functional marketing needs, consider strategies and options for solving sophisticated data-related challenges, and architecting advance solutions;
  • Support necessary business cases and project plans, provide key technology insight to correctly identify best solutions, technologies, future developments and technology trends to service clients and Ascend;
  • Primarily responsible for the following:
  • Leading the development and maintenance of highly sophisticated marketing and analytics databases;
  • Conducting deep data analysis using advanced statistical tools and data modeling;
  • Designing and building extracts;
  • Transforming and loading (ETL) scripts;
  • Designing ETL processes;
  • Maintaining process and system documentation;
  • Conducting application unit testing;
  • Resolving problems to support client programs;
  • Identify data, software and hardware development needs and select the right approach for such development (internal/external), as well as lead the actual development; and
  • Identify potential technologies to minimize current cost, in conjunction with other technology teams in the company.

Minimum Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent field of study;
  • 6 years of progressively responsible and related experience in each of the following:
  • Database design;
  • Database optimization;
  • Installations;
  • Conversions;
  • Business systems architecture;
  • Application and understanding of performing extract;
  • Transform and load (ETL) processes;
  • Database platforms and tools;
  • Analytics and modeling tools;
  • Languages and frameworks; and
  • SQL, SQL Server, MySQL, Node.js, R, Python, Java, or JavaScript.
  • Requires less than 10% travel to client locations; domestic only.

  • Exceptional presentation skills; strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Adobe Creative Suite experience preferred
  • High interest in marketing technology and digital strategy; ready to learn at rapid pace
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
